At Dickinson Jewelers, we love to stay on top of trends. One of the biggest trends in jewelry right now is shifting toward sterling silver. Sterling silver has long been a standard, but it is making one serious statement right now!
We love sterling silver because of its versatility. It easily can be dressed up for a formal look, but sterling silver is also perfect for everyday wear. We’ve collected some of our favorite sterling silver looks for you to shop.
Silver and Pearl
One of the most exciting trends in the past few years has been pearls being incorporated into different pieces. It’s not just your standard string of pearls anymore. Nope! Pearls are popping up all over, and we really love how they look with sterling silver.
These earrings from Imperial are a perfect example! The atypical silver shape makes these earrings modern and fun.
If that’s not your style, we also think these more traditional dangle earrings are to die for. You can really see how silver makes a difference here! We can picture these earrings going perfectly with a formal dress and updo, but they also work just as well with jeans and a ponytail.

This bracelet and necklace are sold separately, but they make such a pretty pair. The design of the silver makes them playful, which is a great example of how important this trendy metal really is.
Colby Davis Pendants
Just in time for warmer weather! Colby Davis is a company based out of Boston founded by a mother and daughter team. This line has a great selection of nautical jewelry, which is perfect for those nice days by the bay.
One look we are really loving is Colby Davis’s sterling silver pendant charms. These are perfect for a casual look. Each pendant is designed with a special meaning in mind, often engraved on the back of the charm, which makes these an especially sweet gift to give to someone near and dear to your heart.
This scallop shell is sweetly engraved with “you and me by the sea” on the reverse side. What a perfect memento of a meaningful trip or day by the water.
Not all of the company’s looks are nautical! This celtic knot charm symbolizes love, loyalty, and friendship.
Colby Davis has so many charms, and they aren’t all medallions. This sterling silver bee is right on-trend, using both our metal of choice and a very trendy insect symbol. Whether you’re the queen bee or think of the bee as symbolizing hard work and loyalty, this small charm is perfect on a sterling silver chain.
Sterling Silver and Blue
We have seen a ton of sterling silver jewelry designed with various blue gems, and it’s no surprise! The colors look incredible together! From playful to polished, there is a blue-and-silver piece of jewelry for everyone.
This cross necklace made with blue larimar is a great example of this color combination. Marahlago crafts with larimar and often uses silver, which makes for truly stunning jewelry.
The lighter color of larimar certainly hasn’t cornered the silver market. Sapphire, one of the most famous blue-hued stones, looks absolutely amazing set in silver. This Gabriel and Co. sterling silver ring is bold and fantastic. It plays with texture so well that we’re sure we couldn’t look away if you paid us!
We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention turquoise! How gorgeous does this stone-and-silver combination look? This is an absolutely beautiful pendant that really speaks to our point about silver being easily dressed up or down.
If you’ve fallen in love with sterling silver, don’t be shy! Shop online with us, or come by our Dunkirk and Prince Frederick stores. We’re open 24/7 online or Tuesday-Saturday in person, and our jewelry stylists are excited to show off their favorite sterling silver pieces.
