October is one of our favorite months here at Dickinson Jewelers, and it’s easy to see why. There’s so much going on in store! From pets in the store to diamond upgrades, October is an incredibly exciting month here in Southern Maryland. Here’s what’s happening in Dunkirk and Prince Frederick!
Annual Pet Event
No bones about it: we’re excited for our annual pet event benefiting the Humane Society of Calvert County. All month long, you can support the Humane Society in several fun ways.

The tickets are only $2 each, but since we love you so much, we have an even more special deal to give you more chances to win. Six tickets are just $10, and you can get 15 tickets for $20. You can enter as many times as you want — remember, the more times you enter, the more likely it is that we pull your ticket! Every penny goes back to the Humane Society to support their mission.
We are also hosting a supply drive for the animals at the Humane Society. The sweet cats and dogs are in need of peanut butter, bleach, paper towels, canned food (no Old Roy or Alpo), Nyla bones, tennis balls, and dog toys. You can drop your donations off at our Dunkirk or Prince Fredrick stores to help keep Southern Maryland’s animals healthy and happy.
All of these exciting events culminate in our Howl-o-ween Party on Saturday, October 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Grab your puppy Halloween costume and bring your dogs for one very special event! We’ll have our raffle and supply drive going strong, and we’ll also have goody bags for dog friends. Humans, we haven’t forgotten about you! We have a special trick-or-treat event just for you. Pick a pumpkin, and you just might find a diamond or gemstone inside. We’ll also have door prizes...and did we mention that we’ll have DOGS?! That’s right! From 11 to 3, we’ll have dogs in store for you to meet and adopt. Come out, support a great cause, and maybe even meet your new BFF.
Antwerp Trip
Our owner, Claude Dickinson, is headed to Belgium for his annual diamond-buying trip, and we want to get YOUR diamond on his shopping list! Antwerp, Belgium is the diamond capital of the world, which is why Claude has been traveling there to get your perfect diamonds for more than 30 years. On October 25, he’ll set out again to bring back the cream of the crop.
