Ah, the dog days of summer: slowly getting back into school routines, those last sweet treats from Rita’s, warm days fading into crisp autumn mornings...it makes us want a pumpkin spice latte just thinking about it!
Here at Dickinson Jewelers, the dog days of summer take on a whole new meaning with our Humane Society fundraiser. We pride ourselves on giving back to our community, and this fundraiser is one of the most fun ways we can help.
Now through October 7, we’ll be collecting supplies to donate to the Humane Society at our Dunkirk and Prince Frederick locations. Most wanted supplies include:
- Creamy peanut butter
- Canned dog food
- Kongs
- Disinfecting wipes
- Paper towels
- Laundry soap
- Squeaky toys or tug toys
- Dryer sheets.
- Hand sanitizer
- Milkbones
In signature Dickinson Jewelers style, we’ll be adding a little sparkle to the collection by hosting an all-day event on Saturday, Oct. 7. From 10-5, both of our locations will be having a blowout celebration of the pets that make our lives richer! Come meet some of the special pets from the Humane Society from 11 to 3 - and if you’re one of the first three people to adopt a pet, we’ll cover half of your adoption fee.
Not ready to add to your zoo? You can still support our wonderful Humane Society and receive free popcorn, balloons, and door prizes during the event. We’ll be having a great time in front of Nick’s in Prince Frederick and Safeway in Dunkirk helping you celebrate your furry friends!
We’ll also be selling cupcakes for a $10 donation to the Humane Society. Here’s our sparkly twist: in some - but not all! - of the cupcake liners, you’ll find hidden diamonds and gems! What will you discover?
If your pet wants to hand-deliver (or would it be paw-deliver?) your donations on Oct. 7, we’ll even have activities for them! Just in time for holiday cards, our staff will be on hand to take free pictures of you and your pets.
