As Forrest Gump once said, life is like a box of chocolates. But with Le Vian, you know exactly what you’re going to get: amazing chocolate diamonds! But what sets these chocolate diamonds apart, and what’s so special about colored diamonds? Read on to find out!
Diamonds naturally come in many colors, but for many years, brown diamonds were assumed to be dirty or inferior. Not all brown diamonds are low-quality, though! Eddie Le Vian introduced the name “chocolate diamonds” in 2000 to identify high-quality brown diamonds. These chocolate diamonds are in the top 5 percent of naturally colored diamonds, and, like all diamonds, are strictly scrutinized for quality. To be called a chocolate diamond, these gems must achieve certain color standards and have excellent cut and clarity. Let’s put it in perspective: brown diamonds are to Tootsie Rolls as chocolate diamonds are to Ferrero Rocher. There’s really no contest! The proof’s in the pudding with these delicious earrings.
Chocolate diamonds come from Australia, but it’s no mistake they’re named after candy and not a native Australian product. Eddie Le Vian was a bona fide chocoholic. He craved chocolate and was a fixture on the artisanal dark chocolate scene. It wasn’t just the taste Le Vian liked either: he thought chocolate had “magical qualities” and thought it might also have health benefits. His obsession with chocolate made the name an easy choice for him – Le Vian wanted people to associate the diamonds he loved with the passion that many people have for chocolate.
