No sir, you won’t find any dilapidated tea cozies or crusty old brooches at the Heirloom Antique and Estate Jewelry Event. All you’ll find at this event is perfect, jaw-dropping heirloom jewelry pieces.

Dickinson Jewelers is proud to host our annual heirloom and estate jewelry trunk show this April 20-22. But what is an antique and estate jewelry event, you might ask? Easy - it’s your opportunity to shop one of the finest collections of heirloom and estate jewelry in the country alongside our already gorgeous modern pieces. And what exactly is heirloom and estate jewelry? We talked with jewelry stylist Dolly Fotta to find out.

“Most people think estate jewelry always means old-style jewelry,” Dolly said. “But estate simply means previously owned, so it can actually encompass modern styles. It should appeal to every jewelry lover - not just those who love antique jewelry.”

We’re bringing in the big guns: experts on antique and estate jewelry. The Singer Collection in New York City is one of the world’s biggest and best collections of antique jewelry. If you’re picturing anything other than swoon-worthy pieces, think again. For three days at the end of April, our stores will be transformed into a veritable mecca of Victorian, Edwardian, Art Deco, and retro pieces. Simply put, this is your opportunity to grab one-of-a-kind jewelry with one-of-a-kind craftsmanship.

And when we say one-of-a-kind, we mean it: estate jewelry experts say that it is very rare to find two pieces of older jewelry that are identical. This is because many estate pieces were made by hand - even if they do have a more modern style. Every ring, bracelet, necklace, and earring in our sale has its own character, and it’s that character that makes it so appealing to jewelry lovers.

This bloomed gold bracelet is an example of the uniqueness we’re talking about. Bloomed gold is a finish achieved by dipping the gold into a hydrochloric acid mixture. The mixture burns off the alloy metals and leaves an intense yellow matte finish, making the gold appear to have a higher karat content than it actually is. Pieces with fascinating back stories like this make up the bulk of the show, and we’re very fortunate to be bringing in an expert to help share these stories with you.

Here’s another thing that makes our event one-of-a-kind: it contains some celebrity pieces. If you’ve been waiting for Hollywood to finally notice Calvert County, wait no more because the Heirloom Antique and Estate Jewelry Event is here!

While we can’t promise pieces from your favorite celebrity, we know that there are always treasures to be found at the Heirloom Antique and Estate Jewelry Event! Put it on your calendar: this can’t-be-missed event is only in-stores from April 20 through April 22. We can’t wait to see what treasures you’ll discover!
